Rice Culture – the new eatery specializing in sweet fish-shaped Asian desserts – started a soft opening over the weekend at its newest location in Chantilly off Route 50.

As The Burn has been reporting, Rice Culture has taken a small space in the Chantilly Crossing shopping center. That’s the same center with the Costco, the Target, and the Lidl just south of 50 on Lee Road.

Rice Culture is located in the same outparcel building where the Chipotle and Roaming Rooster restaurants are situated.

Rice Culture serves up taiyaki, which are Japanese-style waffles with a variety of sweet fillings such as Nutella, Orea, and matcha.

They also have soft serve ice cream and something they call “jar desserts” – various sweet concoctions served in tiny jars. You can see the full Rice Culture menu below.

According to the company’s website, this is the third Rice Culture location. The first two are in Vienna and Tysons.
